Welcome to Lynne Simmonds Therapy Services
I understand life can feel overwhelming at times. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, low mood, grief, or simply feeling lost, you don’t have to face it alone.
I aim to offer a warm, compassionate and non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace

A Little About Me
I am a qualified counsellor with a range of experience in the following:
- Neurodivergence
- Abuse (sexual, emotional and domestic)
- Trauma
- Anxiety and depression
- Low self-esteem and self-defeating behaviours
- Grief
With over 25 years of experience with neurodivergence, both personally and professionally, I bring a deep level of understanding to my work.
From a parent’s perspective, I understand the challenges of supporting a neurodivergent loved one, including navigating schools, accessing the right support, and processes such as EHCP and DLA/PIP applications. It is not an easy journey, and at times it can feel overwhelming and even traumatic.
Alongside this, I have worked within schools supporting a range of neurodivergent students, and spent many years supporting other SEN parents.
I have also counselled many neurodivergent adult clients, supporting them in understanding their experiences, exploring their identity, and discovering what neurodivergence means for them in their own lives.

I am currently training to further specialise in trauma.
I understand that trauma can affect a person’s wellbeing both emotionally and physically, and can be linked to experiences such as anxiety, low self-esteem, grief, and, at times, long-term health conditions such as Fibromyalgia.
Through our work together, I aim to support you in exploring your experiences at a pace that feels safe, helping you to make sense of your feelings and find a way to live alongside your experiences with greater understanding and balance.
This lived and professional experience shapes the way I work - offering empathy, patience and a space where you feel truly understood.
I offer pluralistic therapy, which means our work together is tailored to you.
Drawing from:
- Person-centred therapy
- Psychodynamic approaches
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
I adapt each session to suit your individual needs, rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.
I have completed a Level 2 Trauma-Focused CBT course and I am currently undertaking further specialist training in trauma. This allows me to offer a trauma-informed, sensitive approach, always working at a pace that feels safe for you.
Alongside talking therapy, I can gently incorporate:
- Breathwork
- Reiki (Level 2 trained)
These can be included within sessions if appropriate, always guided by your comfort and preferences.

Online & Telephone Sessions
I offer therapy sessions online and via telephone, providing a flexible and accessible way to access support from the comfort of your own space.
Online therapy can feel just as effective as face-to-face work, and many people find it easier to open up when they are in a familiar and comfortable environment.
All sessions are held in a confidential and secure way. All you need is a quiet, private space where you feel able to talk freely.
We will work together to create a space where you feel safe, supported and able to explore whatever you bring.
What Happens Next?
Taking the first step can feel daunting, but I aim to make the process as gentle and straightforward as possible.
I offer a free 30-minute initial session, giving us the opportunity to meet, talk through what has brought you to therapy, and explore what you would like from our work together.
This is also a chance for you to ask any questions and to see whether you feel comfortable working with me—there is no pressure to continue.
If you decide to go ahead, we can then arrange ongoing sessions at a pace that feels right for you.
